Welcome to the blog, fellow cheese lover (or so it seems)! What an awesome picture! So when is your next marathon, and when are you planning to qualify for Boston?

From walter on Sun, Aug 17, 2008 at 23:27:25

Welcome to the blog, what a sweet rooster! Its funny, this morning I was looking through my photos of my Slalom spray. I have one that is awesome if I can find it. I love to water ski and wish I had more summer months to play in the water.

From Kelli on Mon, Aug 18, 2008 at 18:49:29

I like you already---run to eat!

My dad is a dentist and my brother is just finishing up school to be a prosthodontist. Fun stuff!

Good luck with your goals!

Brother.... Welcome to the intersanctum of the blogies. Let's hit some races. This blog is sweet because it motivates you to RuN, run, RUN rUN! 360-n-out!

From Sunnyrun on Tue, Aug 19, 2008 at 15:32:26

I agree nfroerer - this blog is motivating

From vEVEETA on Wed, Aug 20, 2008 at 02:08:52

thanks to you all for the welcome to runner's blogging heaven. Lucia, I do actually love cheese, although velveeta-type cheese is fake so I mostly make fun of it! Good luck with your recovery. Yes, Kelli, dentistry is fun stuff, most of the time! Thanks walter for the h2O skiing comment. I guess I am supposed to put up a running photo but I've always been a bit of a rebel. As for nfroerer-as you are running keep dreaming of one day challenging vELVEETA for the 360 domination. sweet dreams to all and eat cheese everyday.

From Kelli on Wed, Aug 20, 2008 at 13:23:59

I was so confused about the cheese!!! DA! I thought Lucia must know you are something. I think I better quit running and start sleeping!

Anyway, I will eat cheese every day and think of you. I am so glad i figured all of that out, I was stumped!

From cgbooth23 on Wed, Aug 20, 2008 at 18:09:42

Your bro said you joined the FRB's, it is good mojo, but i must say I have not yet caught on to the Velveeta joke that blogger Kelli was commenting about??? I am a bit slow when it comes to things like that feel me in, please... and happy Hill running in SAN FRAN, they make you tough or take your MOJO away!

From Kelli on Wed, Aug 20, 2008 at 20:54:12

Oh good! i am not the only slow one. Look at the NAME of his blog, plus his nickname.

From gdoc on Wed, Aug 20, 2008 at 23:33:19

hey 3 ball, welcome to the blog brother. My face is still numb from the implant and I am scared. I might consider running again now that I see you on the web.

From vELVEETA on Fri, Aug 22, 2008 at 01:09:59

hey Booth, good to hear from ya, there really is no good explanation for the cheese business unfortunately. I do love running here because the hills add variety but all too often do take my MOJO, except I've never really had any MOJO I realized. All of you please ignore my sad little-man bro gdoc's comments. He is a work in progress, as well as having a numb face. I am afraid it has sent him a bit over the edge. Today I walked up a hill, but it was a big one! Tomorrow a run after pulling teeth!

I was watching a class of 5 year olds this sunday and the teacher had them doing a thing with each pretending to be an olympic judge. She asked them which country they were from. The 3rd kid replied "Cheese", so there you go.

Nice... way to start out the week. Brotha...

Race: San Jose Rock -n- Roll Half Marathon (13.1 Miles) 01:43:44, Place overall: 992, Place in age division: 157
Running MilesSwimming YardsBike Miles
13.220.000.00

Fun race.  The rock/roll marathons are fun with the bands, well supported.  I didn't need to carry my own liquids.  I used my hammer gel because that is what I like.  I feel good about the race.  I wasn't in nearly the pain during this one , especially at the end, like I was in May for Ogden half.  I guess that means I am in better shape but I might have been able to push myself faster/harder?  I had a pretty good kick at the end.  My Garmin time was 143.38 showing a 13.22 distance.  I bit of a discrepancy with the official chip time, but not much.  Here are my splits:

1. 7:46  2. 7:46 3. 7:49 4. 7:53 5. 8:01 6. 7:51 7. 7:47 8. 7:43 9. 8:02 10. 7:50 11. 7:56 12. 7:57 13. 7:42 (.22) 1:28

I slowed down a bit in the middle, I'm ok with that but I think I could have run the last 2.5 to 3 a bit faster. Next time!
